 Kids in the Kitchen

Description

Making a winter soup and need some bread? This is a simple recipe that you can have the kids help with while you busy getting the soup ready.

Time

15-30 minutes15 min30 min

Serves

4

Ingredients

  • ½ cup self-raising flour
  • ½ cup polenta
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • handful of grated cheese
  • 220g can creamed corn
  • ½ cup buttermilk

Method

  1. Sift self-raising flour into a bowl and add polenta and baking powder. Fold in a sprinkle of grated cheese then add creamed corn and buttermilk.
  2. Pour into greased muffin tray or small bread pan. Bake at 180C for 30mins.

For kids, use shaped oven-proof containers to bake the bread in. It's a fun way to serve the bread on the side of soups.
