It has been reported that Dreamworld could be prosecuted over last year’s Thunder River Rapids ride tragedy.
According to a State Government investigation, the Gold Coast theme park could be faced with legal action.
The Workplace Health and Safety Queensland investigation has just been completed and the families of the four victims who died in the tragedy last October have been advised that Dreamworld could be found to have been at fault.
Government lawyers will assess the report’s findings before determining whether to lay charges against Dreamworld’s owner, Ardent Leisure.
“Given the possibility of pending legal action, the investigation cannot be released at this time,” Industrial Relations Minister Grace Grace confirmed.
“I’ll be receiving a briefing on the findings of that investigation next week.”
It is believed that the prosecutions assessment of the case could take several months.
