The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have finally introduced their baby son to the world – and his name is extra adorable.
Prince Harry and Meghan decided to name their first child Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.
Their little prince was born on May 6 and weighed 7lbs and 3oz.
The royal couple waited a few days to finally show the world their little bundle of joy: and he is absolutely adorable.
‘The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are pleased to announce they have named their first born child,’ Harry and Meghan wrote in an Instagram post.
‘Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.
This afternoon Their Royal Highnesses introduced Her Majesty The Queen to her eighth great-grandchild at Windsor Castle. The Duke of Edinburgh and The Duchess’ mother were also present for this special occasion.’
Archie’s interesting name has already been analysed by keen royal watchers.
After bookies decided he was either going to be called Alexander, Spencer or Aidan, Archie is certainly an untraditional royal name.
Many seem to think Archie is an anagram of Meghan’s birth name, Rachel, and the name of the character she played on Suits.
The name Harrison also sounds like ‘Harry’s son’, which could be a sweet nod to his royal father.
Rather than being a Prince or His Royal Highness, the couple’s son will be known simply as ‘Master Archie’.
