The Truth About Pippa Middleton’s Bridesmaid Dress

All the details about the famous dress!

When Kate Middleton married Prince William in 2011, no one had any idea her younger sister Pippa would steal the show at the royal wedding.

The then 27-year-old played bridesmaid to her famous sister and instantly became a viral sensation.

All eyes were on Pippa’s flattering Alexander McQueen gown, which complemented her incredibly svelte figure.

The ivory satin-based crepe bridesmaid dress featured a floor-length, figure-hugging silhouette, complete with the iconic cinched waist that Alexander McQueen is famous for.

In order to match Kate’s bridal gown, it had 58 gazar and organza-covered buttons all the way down the back to the derriere.

‘As I have found out, recognition has its upside, its downside and – you may say – its backside,’ Pippa said at an event in 2014.

She added that the infamous gown may have ‘fitted a little too well’.

The long skirt also meant Pippa had to tread carefully in her Jimmy Choo heels on the day.

While the exact cost of Pippa’s bridesmaid dress remains unclear, an Alexander McQueen dress usually retails for between $10,000-$15,000.

But a bespoke gown like Pippa’s is thought to cost up to ten times more than that.

Six years later, it was Pippa’s turn at being the bride at her own wedding to James Matthews in May 2017.

Pippa also wore a gorgeous bespoke veil designed by milliner Stephen Jones, made of tulle with embroidered pearls.

Pippa and her now-husband James married on May 20, 2017 in her hometown village of Berkshire after a 10-month engagement.

The nuptials were held at the quaint St Mark’s Church in Englefield.
