Australia’s fattest cow is so huge he was saved from being sent to the abattoir.
Knickers, a 1.92cm tall bovine who weighs the same as a family car, towers over the rest of his herd in Myalup, Western Australia.
He is so massive, Knickers was unable to be sent to the abattoir and will likely live out the rest of his days grazing in freedom.
‘It was too heavy,’ owner Geoff Pearson told Perth Now.
‘I wouldn’t be able to put it through a processing facility. So I think it will just live happily ever after.’
Pearson said the huge, 1.4 tonne cow would have made 450 cuts of steak and 370kg of mince – had he fit inside the slaughterhouse.
The farmer adds that his other 20,000 cows enjoy following around their giant friend and are quite taken with him.
