One of Australia’s favourite game shows – Sale of the Century – may be returning to our TV screens!
TV Tonight reports that Channel Ten is rumoured to be produce a ‘new-look’ version of the hugely popular series.
‘Ten has been readying to provide studio space at Pyrmont for FremantleMedia to pilot the game show,’ the report said.
On the original Sale of the Century, which aired from 1980 to 2001, saw three contestants answer general knowledge questions in order to win points.
Contestants could spend the points on prizes as they went along or save their points in order to progress to the grand showroom at the end of each episode, where bigger prizes waited.
Tony Barber, 78, and Glenn Ridge, 62, both made names for themselves while hosting the original series.
The original quiz show also featured various co-hosts including Victoria Nicholls, Delvene Delaney, Alyce Platt, Jo Bailey and most notably, Nicky Buckley, 52.
