A savvy shopper has been praised online after she came up with an ingenious solution to save money on groceries with a simple Kmart hack.
By storing her fresh fruit and vegetables in ‘food-saving’ containers from the retail giant, the Australian woman claimed the produce keeps for twice as long.
‘I thought I’d share my findings for keeping things neat and fresh for longer!’ the woman wrote on Facebook along side an image of a fridge full of the containers.
The 1.7 litre plastic containers retail at Kmart for just $7 and feature adjustable air vents to maintain airflow and keep food fresh for longer.
The woman also wrote that by placing paper towel between veggies, it helped to soak up the moisture, adding that she used to do the grocery shopping weekly, but now only has to do it once a fortnight.
The post on Facebook has since attracted much attention from others looking for ways to save money.
‘This is such a great idea!’ wrote one.
