When you think of having a husband, most women want a best friend, a life partner and closest confidante.

But new research has found more than 50 per cent of married women actually PREFER their real best friends over their spouse.

According to a survey conducted by Champneys Health Spa, more than half of the women would choose to spend time with their best friend if given a choice.

Unsurprisingly, the biggest reason for this imbalance is that women found their best friends to be more understanding and would listen more than their husbands.

Out of the 1517 UK women surveyed, 57 per cent said they can ‘talk about everything’ with their best friends.

Another 39 per cent admitted ‘I can truly be myself’ around friends, while a shocking 26 per cent confessed their besties are ‘less irritating’.

Not only that, 30 per cent of respondents said that they prefer to have boozy lunches with their friends and 60 per cent said that they have a better time if ‘no men are there at all’.

The rest of the statistics says it all!
